I am proud to raise my daughter in Albert-Eden and love all that the area has to offer. I am committed to protecting what makes our neighbourhoods special but also realise they are growing, meaning we need better parks and facilities. Currently, I am working with the Methodist Church on a community hub for Waterview - a place for connection and support. I offer my skills as an urban planner to serve our community and want to work toward better active transport and community safety. I founded the Waterview School Bike Train to give kids a fun way to get to school safely, grounded in my belief that everyone should be able to get around easily. My community advocacy started with climate action and better environments at Generation Zero and Women in Urbanism, and more recently the Albert-Eden Eco Festival. Please vote for me and the City Vision team.
This local election is about choosing candidates who will stand with mana whenua, prepare our city for climate change and who will help create a safe, well designed city. If elected, I will support initiatives that create cohesive neighbourhoods that are safe, connected, and vibrant (festivals, markets, workshops, events, local community hubs). I will also support more affordable housing being built, and greater, more sustainable transport options.
I have a background in Urban Planning and improving safety in public spaces. I have worked with councils, organisations & the community to improve safety & help develop longer term goals. I work on environmental projects that bring community together & am currently working as the co-ordinator of the Waterview Community & Enviro Hub, and the Waterview Primary School Bike Train. I have led orgnasiations such as Women in Urbansim. I am a māmā & understand what families want for their communities.
Supporting safer neighbourhoods & town centres e.g. Events that bring community together; better lit streets & walkable neighbourhoods; local art; neighbourhood support groups Increasing level of public transport services e.g. Increasing reliability & frequency; users feel & are safe (including vulnerable bus drivers); well lit and sheltered transit stops A thriving local natural environment e.g. raising water quality; eradicating pests; supporting locals to be kaitiaki over their green spaces
We need a balanced transport system that reduces emissions & works for everyone. Focus should be on safer walking (with walkable neighbourhoods and town centres) & cycling infrastructure, with connected networks, reliable frequent public transport linked to the City Rail Link, and reduced car dependency through lower speeds and low-traffic neighbourhoods. Investing in accessible, climate-resilient streets will cut emissions, boost local business, and create healthier, more liveable communities.
Managing water means investing in stormwater infrastructure (like rain gardens and permeable streets), protecting water quality, and preparing for climate impacts like flooding. We must be responsible guardians of Auckland’s water systems. we must work with mana whenua and communities to ensures resilient, sustainable water for future generations.
Auckland needs climate-resilient housing, better urban form, and infrastructure that supports growth while reducing emissions. We must protect heritage and build affordable and accessible homes near transport, parks, and community facilities.
I support action for a zero carbon future, protecting biodiversity, and enhancing green spaces. We must invest in climate resilience and back community-led environmental initiatives, supporting locals to be kaitiaki over their local natural environment. We must support the pest eradication and educational work of groups like Urban Ark, and the restoration and planting efforts of groups such as Friends of Oakley Creek.
A community with strong wellbeing starts with everyone having access to healthy, secure homes. Supporting wellbeing, means the people within those communities have equitable access to libraries, parks, arts, and events - things that don't cost the earth, but bring people out of isolation and connect them with others. Approaches that make places safer and stronger need to be locally led and based.
Auckland’s economy must deliver equity and wellbeing. I support fair rates, public ownership of strategic assets, yet thoughtful asset recycling where appropriate, and investment in local businesses and cultural heritage.
Delivering Māori outcomes means resourcing local initiatives, protecting whenua and wai, and ensuring Māori voices shape Auckland’s future. We must uphold Te Tiriti and invest in climate resilience, housing, and infrastructure that reflect Māori aspirations. I support strong local democracy where communities are listened to and Local Boards make local decisions.
