Candidate for Henderson-Massey Local Board
Independent
I’m running for the Henderson-Massey Local Board because I care deeply about the future of our community. I want to see practical progress - not more talk. That means better infrastructure, safer streets, and public spaces we’re proud of. I bring a clear-headed, strategic approach to decision-making, but I also listen. Whether it’s families, young people, seniors, or small business owners, I believe everyone deserves a say in shaping what comes next. I’ll advocate for smarter transport, balanced housing growth, and better digital access - things that make everyday life easier. It’s time to cut through the noise and focus on what really matters: transparent leadership, fair representation, and results we can all benefit from. Henderson-Massey is an amazing growing community. Let’s make sure it grows in the right way - together.
I’m running because I’m a working guy who understands real-world challenges. I want to bring practical, thoughtful leadership to the table—focused on health, homes, and jobs. Our community deserves decisions that reflect everyday realities, not just political talk. I’ll listen, act, and push for change that works.
Experienced in small business management, frontline customer service, and corporate leadership. Skilled in strategic planning, resource allocation, and community engagement. Strong communicator with a practical mindset and a focus on real-world solutions. Able to bridge grassroots insight with system-level thinking to drive effective, inclusive change.
My key issues are health, homes, and jobs. I support better access to healthcare, including mental health and preventative services. I advocate for affordable, secure housing through smarter planning and stronger protections. I back local job creation, support for small businesses, and pathways to meaningful work. These are the foundations of a strong, fair community.
My priorities are reliable, frequent public transport that serves working people; safe, connected cycleways that link neighborhoods and key destinations; and well-maintained walking tracks that support active lifestyles. I’ll push for smarter routes, better infrastructure, and planning that reflects how people actually move through our community.
My priorities for water infrastructure include upgrading aging systems to handle growth and climate impacts, improving stormwater management to reduce flooding, and expanding green solutions like rain gardens and wetlands. I support better coordination between council and communities, and promoting conservation through education and smart tools.
My priorities are balanced urban development that meets growth without losing character, affordable housing through smart planning and stronger protections, resilient infrastructure that supports future needs, and heritage protection that respects our history. I’ll advocate for inclusive, sustainable policies that serve both present and future generations.
I support restoring native habitats, expanding green infrastructure like wetlands and rain gardens, and protecting biodiversity through stronger pest control. We must align urban growth with ecological sustainability and empower communities to care for local green spaces. These steps build climate resilience and ensure Auckland’s natural heritage thrives.
I’ll support inclusive planning, better access to local services, and investment in community hubs, parks, and libraries. I’ll advocate for facilities that reflect diverse needs—youth, seniors, families—and promote events that bring people together. Strong communities grow from connection, shared spaces, and services that support well being.
I’ll champion local business by improving access to resources, reducing red tape, and supporting apprenticeships and job pathways. I’ll promote cultural heritage through events, public art, and protection of historic sites. Economic growth should reflect our identity—supporting innovation while celebrating the diverse cultures that make Auckland unique.
I support delivering Māori outcomes through genuine partnership, cultural inclusion, and meaningful action. The Port of Auckland must serve the public good while generating long-term value. I back growing the Auckland Future Fund to protect future generations. I’ll also advocate for fair, climate-resilient storm recovery that strengthens infrastructure and supports community well being.
