Candidate for Henderson-Massey Local Board
WestWards
Honoured to work alongside Ken Turner and Sunil Kaushal, to represent WestWards. With over 40 years of experience in government, I bring an in-depth understanding of policies and public sector procedures. My focus includes roading, infrastructure, and crime prevention. Everyone deserves to feel safe in our community. I'm adaptable, methodical, a lateral thinker, and proudly born and bred out West. Practical improvements matter. We need rubbish bins reinstated for community pride. Speed bumps should be reviewed and reduced where unnecessary, and all roads must be brought up to compliance - something we currently fall short on. Clear road markings and well-highlighted pedestrian crossings are essential. We must also reduce flood risks by clearing debris from streams. Local businesses and residents across all town centres deserve to feel safe and supported, our local businesses are the heart of our community. Together, let's make the West a better, safer place for everyone.
If elected, I would endeavour to ensure our community’s infrastructure assets are kept up to a high standard At present a large sum on money is spent on new speed humps, where the existing infrastructure is being neglected
I’m a methodical and lateral thinker, and am adaptable enough to consider other team members ideas and work to adopt or refine them into workable solutions I listen to people Community built by community’s , not by politics
Top key issues Roading infrastructure Who remembers the Henderson Street project? Hours of traffic jams created by the past Henderson Massey Local Board adapting the government / NZTA decision to block streets and create traffic jams ? How many speed humps do we really need? I would like to be involved in Investigating how to make getting through town centres quicker and easier Parks and streams Money needs to be invested in beautifying recreational areas
