Working with Ken Turner, Sunil Kaushal, and the WestWards team. Andy Liu has called West Auckland home for over two decades. A hardworking business owner, community leader, and proud Asian-New Zealander, he's built his life here, raising a family, creating jobs, and supporting others to do the same. Andy understands the real challenges facing locals because he has lived through them, from the rising cost of living to the frustration with council inaction. As president of two major community associations, Andy brings people together. Now he's stepping up to serve the wider community. Andy believes in the practical, no-nonsense leadership that Henderson Massey deserves. He's committed to upgrading broken infrastructure, fixing drainage, and improving rubbish collection. He wants parks that families can enjoy, better funding for local boards, and a council that actually listens. This election, vote for Andy Liu, who understands West Auckland and delivers for it.

My Top Three Key Issues & Why They Matter 1. For me, transport is about making it easier, safer, and faster for people to get around West Auckland. First, fix and upgrade our roads so they’re safer and less congested, especially in busy and high-risk areas. Second, improve public transport — we need buses and trains that run more often, on time, and connect our suburbs better. Third, make cycling and walking safer by adding more protected bike lanes and walking paths that connect homes, schools, parks, and shops.
First, secure our supply by protecting catchment areas, reducing leaks, and planning ahead for population growth. Second, protect water quality in our rivers, lakes, and harbours by tightening pollution controls and investing in better treatment facilities. Third, improve stormwater systems so heavy rain doesn’t cause flooding or carry contaminants into our waterways. Finally, manage wastewater responsibly by keeping infrastructure up to date.
For urban development, we need well-planned growth that creates vibrant, mixed-use communities with good transport links and green spaces. On housing, I support increasing supply through quality, affordable homes. For infrastructure, we must invest ahead of growth, ensuring roads, public transport, water, and community facilities keep pace with new developments. heritage protection, we should preserve historic buildings and culturally important sites.
Auckland’s natural spaces are one of our greatest treasures, and we must protect them for future generations. First, protect and restore biodiversity by safeguarding native bush, wetlands. Second, improve climate resilience through more tree planting, restoring coastal areas. Third, keep our environment clean by reducing waste, preventing pollution in waterways, and encouraging recycling and composting. A healthy environment means a healthier, stronger, and more resilient Auckland for us all.
I believe strong communities are built on connection, trust, and good local services. First, create more opportunities for people to connect — through community events, cultural festivals, sports, that bring neighbours together. Second, improve local facilities like parks, libraries, sports grounds, and community centres so they are safe, accessible, and welcoming for all ages. Third, support wellbeing by working with local groups to provide programmes for youth, seniors, and families.
My vision is for West Auckland to be both economically vibrant and culturally rich. 1.support local businesses by cutting unnecessary red tape, connecting entrepreneurs with training, funding, and new markets;2.attract investment and jobs by showcasing West Auckland as a great place to do business, with strong infrastructure, skilled people, and a welcoming community;3.promote our cultural heritage by supporting events, festivals, and arts projects;4.connect culture with economic growth.
For Māori outcomes, I will work in partnership with mana whenua to protect cultural heritage sites, support Māori businesses, and include Māori perspectives in planning and decision-making. For the Port of Auckland, I support keeping it productive while reducing environmental impacts and improving safety, ensuring it benefits the whole city. For the Auckland Future Fund, I believe it should be managed with transparency,For storm recovery, I will push for faster repairs, better flood prevention.
