Dani backs saving the Gulf Harbour Golf Course, Gulf Harbour Ferry, saving the Orewa Beachfront Reserve, a new Archers Reserve and Weiti walkway/cycleway, more. Articulate, goal oriented, approachable, she connects easily with people from all walks of life. With the Hibiscus People First team (www.puttingpeoplefirst.nz/hibiscuspeoplefirst) Dani is seeking a position on the local board to champion responsible growth, preserve the area's character, and ensure a thriving, resilient future for the Hibiscus Coast community.
The Hibiscus Coast is my home. It’s where I live, work, and spend time with the people I care about. I want to protect what makes this place so unique, while helping to shape a future that works for everyone in our community. I’m passionate about ensuring our Coast is a place where families, businesses, and the environment can all thrive
I bring a strong sense of dedication and compassion to everything I do. My practical business experience in the construction industry building roads, pathways, landscaped areas is directly relevant to the local board. I understand how to get the best value from projects, deliver them on time and on budget. I am also well experienced in working with people and communities to deliver projects with good listening skills and good monitoring to manage outcomes
My top priorities are supporting both our youth and elderly, investing in environmentally friendly infrastructure, and keeping our community connected, because I believe these are the foundations of a thriving, future-ready Hibiscus Coast
My priorities are safer, more connected walkways and reliable, accessible public transport. I’ll push for better bus schedules, improved routes, and walkable paths that connect our schools, shops, and public spaces like Archers Block 23 hectares, Weiti River walkway / cycleway to connect Arkles Bay to Silverdale, Orewa and Millwater. Everyone should be able to move around the Coast safely and easily, with or without a car
I’ll strongly advocate for urgent investment in water infrastructure to end sewage overflows, protect our marine environment, and future-proof the Coast. Clean water, safe beaches, and reliable stormwater systems aren’t optional — they’re essential. Delays put our health, homes, and natural spaces at risk. Infrastructure needs to allow for new mains water connections. We need action now to build a resilient, sustainable future for our growing community
Urban growth must be balanced with smart infrastructure, housing that fits our communities, and strong heritage protection. I support development that’s sustainable, respects local character, and doesn’t outpace roads, water, or public services. Growth should serve people — not overwhelm them
I’ll champion the protection and restoration of our beaches and waterways, creating a new Reserve at Archers Block 23 hectares Stanmore Bay. We must invest in native planting, erosion control, and sustainable infrastructure to build climate resilience. Protecting natural spaces like Orewa Beach Reserve so we save the Norfolk Pines, Pohutukawa and keep the Playground, Volley Ball court and parking spaces that are enjoyed by so many people, keeping the Coast healthy, beautiful, and strong
I’ll work to strengthen local services for youth including a new sports facility at Metro Park and community facilities incorporated into the Gulf Harbour Country Club for elderly, support inclusive events, and ensure facilities meet the needs of all ages. By listening, collaborating, and focusing on what matters — like transport, green spaces, and safe public places — I’ll help build a connected, resilient community where everyone feels they belong
I’m committed to boosting economic growth by supporting our local businesses with practical “buy local” initiatives and stronger community connections including a 7 day faster Ferry service from Gulf Harbour to connect the Coast to City. Promoting our rich cultural heritage is key — it makes the Hibiscus Coast unique and attracts visitors and investment, boosting local events and fundraisers. Together, we can create jobs, celebrate our identity, and build a thriving, resilient local economy
Hibiscus People First commit to open meetings, transparent decision making , genuine consultation. Managing the Port of Auckland must protect our environment while supporting jobs and trade that benefit the wider region. It must remain in public ownership. I support growing the Auckland Future Fund to invest in projects that create local jobs and sustainable growth. For storm recovery, I’ll push for fast, community-led action to rebuild the Hibiscus Coast stronger and more resilient
