Kia ora, I'm Willy and I'm standing for the Hibiscus & Bays Local Board to help uplift our people, places, and shared future. I'm a local business owner, youth mentor, and community connector, passionate about wellbeing (Hauora), resilience, and opportunity for all ages. I've worked with local schools, sports clubs, gyms, day cares, run programmes for rangitahi, and created networks that support health, fitness and businesses. I value people's mana and believe every voice deserves to be heard. I bring strong wairua (spirit), practical experience, and a deep love for this place we call home. I'll advocate for safer spaces, youth development, better access to sport and recreation, and real community support. Let's move forward together with connection, action, and heart. Ngā mihi nui - Kia kaha.
I’m standing because I believe strong, healthy, connected communities create better futures. I’ve seen how the right support changes lives — through my work with youth, schools, sports clubs, and local groups. I bring energy, connection, and action, uniting people and ideas to make positive change. If elected, I’ll champion opportunities for youth, support local businesses, and help keep our community safe, vibrant, and thriving for everyone. Kia Kaha
I bring strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills, developed through years of community, business, and sports involvement. As a connector, I unite people, ideas, and resources to create positive outcomes. My mentoring and coaching background gives me the ability to listen, understand, and empower others. I’m adaptable, solutions-focused, and thrive under pressure. With deep local knowledge and genuine care for people, I’ll bring energy, collaboration, and a results-drive
I’m passionate about empowering rangatahi with skills, confidence, and positive pathways. I believe strong, connected communities keep us safe, vibrant, and thriving. Protecting our beaches, parks, and natural spaces is vital for health, recreation, and tourism. These priorities reflect my mahi with schools, sports clubs, and local groups, and my vision for a healthy, inclusive, and future-focused Hibiscus & Bays.
I’ll advocate for safe, well-maintained roads, reliable and accessible public transport, and improved walking and cycling paths to connect communities. Reducing congestion, upgrading footpaths, and supporting active transport options will make it easier for people to move around, boost local business access, and improve health. Transport should be safe, efficient, and work for everyone — whether driving, riding, or walking.
Keep our water clean and safe for swimming, drinking, and marine life. Fix stormwater issues, treat wastewater properly, and use water wisely so our beaches and waterways stay healthy for everyone.
Plan housing and infrastructure so it’s sustainable, and keeps our community character. Protect our heritage, improve facilities, and make sure growth works for both locals and the environment.
Look after our beaches, parks, and bush so they stay clean, safe, and full of life. Plant natives, protect wildlife, cut pollution, and be ready for climate challenges so future generations can enjoy them too.
I’ll bring people together through events, sport, and local programmes that build trust, pride, and connection. Support facilities and services that keep us active, healthy, and engaged. My coaching philosophy is about healthy bodies, healthy minds, and healthy relationships — when people feel valued and supported, their mana (strength) and wairua (spirit) lift the whole community. Together, we can thrive.
Boost local business by supporting events, networks, and tourism that draw people to our area. Back initiatives that grow jobs and skills for locals, especially youth. Celebrate and share our cultural heritage through festivals, art, and storytelling that bring our community together and attract visitors. A thriving economy and rich culture strengthen our identity, support families, and create a vibrant, connected Hibiscus & Bays.
Work with Māori to honour Te Tiriti and create opportunities. Run the Port well while protecting the environment. Grow the Auckland Future Fund to benefit locals. Improve infrastructure and readiness so we recover faster from storms and are prepared for future challenges.
