Time and again, Howick Local Board has let residents down by failing to control spending, reduce costs effectively, and prioritise the delivery of local services. It’s time to focus on what really matters for Howick. Having lived in Mellons Bay for the past five years, I’ve seen first‑hand the challenges our community faces. As a business owner and IT professional, I know how to tackle complex issues with practical solutions and smart technology to make our area more efficient and future‑focused. By voting for me as an ACT candidate, you know what you are going to get: I will keep local board costs down, maintain valued facilities and public spaces, use new‑age tools like AI to streamline service delivery, and advocate for new transport upgrades to make life easier for commuters and businesses. If you want common sense back at the decision‑making table, please give me one of your votes.
Frustrated by Auckland Council’s rate hikes, wasteful spending, war on cars, and costly climate policies, I knew it was time to act. The Council's so-called “choice” survey offered only more rates, with no plan to cut red tape or reduce wasteful spending. I’m running for the Howick Local Board to bring common sense, apply my tech expertise, and help make Howick the best place to live.
I bring hands-on experience in technology, innovation, and business growth. As co-founder of a NZ AI startup and head of a sales and tech consultancy, I help local businesses adopt new tools and thrive. My background includes senior roles at Cisco, Spark, and BroadSoft, delivering global tech solutions with local impact. I’m passionate about using technology to support our community’s success.
• Cut waste: Use AI and big data to scrutinise projects, boost efficiency, and gather feedback. • Advocate for better road planning: Convert all busways, including Panmure Highway, Panmure Highway Bridge, and soon to be built Ti Rakau Drive, to T2 lanes. • Keep politics fair: Oppose co-governance, unelected seats, and focus on law and order with AI-driven crime prevention.
I'll advocate for better road planning: Convert all busways, including Panmure Highway, Panmure Highway Bridge, and soon to be built Ti Rakau Drive, to T2 lanes, and keep traffic flowing. I’ll fix the basics – maintain footpaths and clear drains. I’ll oppose anti-car policies like excessive speed bumps, road narrowings, and cycleways that don’t reflect local needs. Transport choices should be practical and locally decided, not driven by ideology.
I’ll support local projects that fix flooding, clear blocked drains, and maintain stormwater infrastructure, however, I will scrutinise the cost of each project and seek ways to save ratepayer's money. We need real investment in pipes and pumps – not vanity projects – so water and wastewater systems are reliable, affordable, and focused on essentials for ratepayers.
I’ll oppose red tape that blocks development while ensuring infrastructure keeps up. I support increased housing density around key transport hubs – building where it’s most needed and makes the most sense – so Auckland can grow without pushing up rates or wasting money.
I’ll back local pest control, coastal protection, and better flood management – but stop wasting money on political climate projects that don’t deliver for ratepayers or the environment. Focus should be on practical work that benefits nature and protects communities.
I’ll get the basics right – fix walkways, maintain community centres and libraries, and support practical local events that bring people together without pushing politics or breaking the bank. Well-run facilities and safe public spaces are the foundation of strong communities and the pathway to making Howick the best place to live.
I’ll work with local businesses to revitalise Howick Village and Pakuranga, use AI to improve safety and foot traffic, and cut red tape so it’s easier to hold markets, events, or get a licence. Strong local economies and vibrant communities go hand-in-hand.
All residents should be treated equally. I’ll campaign to remove the voting rights of unelected Independent Māori Statutory Board members on council committees. Strategic assets like the Port and Future Fund must be run efficiently to lower rates, strengthen resilience, and stop waste.
