I am standing as a Local Board candidate because I care deeply about our community and its future. Howick is rich in history, culture, and diversity, and I want to build on these strengths to create a safe, thriving, and connected place for everyone. My experience has shown me the challenges people face, and I will advocate strongly for practical solutions. I believe in leadership that listens, stands alongside people, and puts community wellbeing at the heart of decision-making.
I bring strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to advocate, negotiate, and engage effectively with diverse communities. Guided by integrity, empathy, and resilience, I am committed to serving with transparency and accountability. My vision is to represent people’s voices, honour cultural diversity, and deliver practical solutions for community wellbeing and progress.
Community safety – building stronger partnerships between residents, police, and local services. Support for the vulnerable – ensuring resources and services reach those who need them most. Parking solutions – introducing designated berm parking bays on narrow streets to ease congestion.
I will prioritise safe, reliable, and efficient roads and transport. Investment in maintenance, improved public transport, and better connectivity will reduce congestion, support local businesses, and make travel easier, ensuring our community stays well-connected and future ready.
Auckland should manage its water strategy, through a combination of infrastructure improvements, sustainable practices, and community engagement. This includes integrating land use and water planning, ensuring water security for a growing population, and restoring water ecosystems.
Urban development must balance growth with liveable, connected communities. Infrastructure should be modern, resilient, and accessible. Housing must be safe, affordable, and meet whānau needs. Heritage should be protected, celebrating our history and culture. By planning sustainably and including local voices, we can create neighbourhoods that thrive socially, culturally, and economically—growth that respects both people and place.
Protecting our natural environment means valuing biodiversity and strengthening climate resilience. We must restore ecosystems, safeguard waterways, and preserve native species. By listening to communities we can build a resilient future where nature thrives, our climate is safeguarded, and future generations inherit a healthy, vibrant environment.
I am committed to continuing the good services our community already enjoys. By maintaining high standards in local facilities, reliable transport, waste collection, and community support, we can build on what works well and ensure consistent, quality services for everyone.
My vision includes promoting innovation and technology, supporting diverse local businesses, celebrating and protecting cultural heritage, and ensuring equitable access to opportunities for all residents.
Good outcomes for Māori mean thriving whānau, strong cultural identity, and equitable opportunities in health, education, and employment. They include the revitalisation of te reo Māori, and fair representation in decision-making. Success is measured not just in economic terms, but also in wellbeing, connection to whenua, and intergenerational prosperity. Empowered communities, strong leadership, and respectful partnerships with government and local authorities help ensure Māori can flourish whi
