If elected to the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu Local Board, I will champion opportunities that strengthen our community, support youth into education, training and jobs, and improve access to essential services. I am committed to advocating for safer streets, better transport, vibrant public spaces, and culturally grounded wellbeing initiatives. With over 30 years of community leadership experience, I will work hard to ensure our people are heard, supported, and empowered to thrive.
I bring over 30 years of experience serving our community, supporting youth and families into education, training, and employment. I am a strong listener, collaborator, and advocate who values cultural connection, inclusion, and fairness. My skills in community leadership, mentoring, and problem-solving mean I can work alongside others to achieve positive change. I bring integrity, compassion, and a deep commitment to the wellbeing of Māngere-Ōtāhuhu.
My top priorities are ensuring our parks, libraries and pools remain free and well maintained, because they are vital for mental wellbeing and community connection. I am passionate about creating more opportunities for youth and families to thrive through education, training and jobs. I will also focus on safer streets, stronger communities, and ensuring our rates are fair and continue to deliver real value for Māngere-Ōtāhuhu residents.
I want safer, more reliable and affordable transport options for our community. This means fixing our local roads, improving bus services, and making sure walking and cycling are safe and accessible for all ages.
Water is a precious resource and must be managed responsibly for future generations. I believe we need strong protection of our water supply and quality, with investment in infrastructure to reduce flooding and better manage stormwater and wastewater. I support practical solutions that keep our environment healthy and our households safe, while making sure costs remain fair and affordable for our community.
I support urban development that balances growth with community wellbeing. Auckland needs more affordable, quality housing while protecting our parks, heritage sites, and cultural spaces. Infrastructure must keep pace with growth, including transport, water, and community facilities. I am passionate about development that strengthens our neighbourhoods, preserves our identity, and ensures our community continues to thrive.
I want to protect and enhance Auckland’s natural spaces by planting trees, restoring waterways, and supporting biodiversity. Parks and green spaces must be safe, accessible, and cared for, so our community can enjoy nature and improve wellbeing. I support climate resilience initiatives that reduce flooding, protect our environment, and ensure our tamariki and future generations inherit a healthy, thriving Auckland.
I will build strong, connected communities by listening to residents, supporting local groups, and creating safe spaces for families and youth. I want to maintain local services and facilities—parks, libraries, pools—to an excellent standard so they meet community needs and boost wellbeing. By fostering collaboration, inclusion, and cultural connection, I aim to ensure everyone feels valued, supported, and proud to be part of Māngere-Ōtāhuhu.
I support initiatives that boost economic growth by backing local businesses, creating job opportunities, and helping youth and families gain skills to succeed. I support initiatives that celebrate and preserve our cultural heritage, ensuring our arts, traditions, and stories are shared and valued. My vision is a thriving, inclusive economy where businesses, culture, and community grow together in Māngere-Ōtāhuhu.
I support initiatives that deliver meaningful Māori outcomes by respecting Te Tiriti and partnering with iwi to strengthen culture, wellbeing, and opportunities. I will advocate for responsible management of the Port of Auckland, growth of the Auckland Future Fund to benefit communities, and fair, effective support for storm recovery. My focus is on sustainable, inclusive solutions that protect people, environment, and heritage.
