Shani HATITIO

Candidate for Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board (Tāmaki Subdivision)

C&R - Communities and Residents

Candidate statement

My family and I are proud to live in Maungakiekie-Tāmaki, a place we've called home for over 11 years. I currently manage a busy electorate office right here in our local board area, supporting local residents and solving both complex and everyday issues. Through my work, I've built strong relationships within central government and have seen how effective collaboration between central and local government can deliver real results. I've used these connections to help drive community-led solutions - like reviving the Mt Wellington Residents' Association and securing Auckland Transport's commitment to install traffic lights at a high-risk intersection. I'm deputy Chair of a local School Board and actively volunteer across our community. With a background in senior leadership, budgeting, and project delivery, I offer practical experience and a common-sense approach to community representation. Putting people first, I'm committed to accountability, strong families, and safe neighbourhoods. Vote Shani Hatitio and C&R.
