I'm a proud 5th generation local and third-term elected member of the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board, with nearly 20 years' governance experience across local, regional and national bodies, including the Mt Wellington Licensing Trust, Auckland Conservation Board, Tūpuna Maunga Authority, and Local Govt NZ. I bring strong co-governance skills, community understanding, and a proven track record of delivering for our people. My goals if re-elected include pushing for completing the Unlock Panmure Project, advancing the Hamlin Park and Mt Wellington War Memorial Park multi-use hub, and championing housing, environmental restoration, and better transport. I use my lived experience as a mother of three and community advocate to amplify the voices of our community. I'm deeply committed to working alongside our community, Mana Whenua, Mataawaka, and partners like TRG to deliver social, cultural, environmental progress. I believe in inclusive leadership, clear communication, and sustainable, people-first solutions for the future of our community.
I’m seeking re-election to finish the job we started. From housing partnerships with TRC to protecting our environment and waterways, improving local parks and reserves, and advancing community groups, organisations and NGO's. I’ve advocated for projects that strengthen our communities. Many are still in progress—I won’t walk away now. I’m committed to seeing them through, work well with staff and other members to get results, and making sure our voices stay at the decision-making table.
I bring 3 terms of elected leadership, a lifetime of service to Tāmaki, and nearly 20 years of governance experience across a range of portfolios including housing, conservation, and community development. I balance strategic vision with grassroots advocacy, I have the ability to bring different groups together, and I champion representation and bring voice from underrepresented demographics such as renters, under 40's, families and children, Maori, Pacific and Multi-cultural sectors.
1. Continue advocating to implement the Hamlin Park Multi-Facility Hub and the Mt Wellington War Memorial Reserve concept plan. 2. Continue to advocate alongside TEEF and other local boards for regional funding to clean up the Tamaki Estuary, Te Wai-O-Taiki, the Panmure Basin, Te Kai a Hiku, and continue conservation efforts to protect our marine life and work towards the reality of making these waterways swim-able again 3. Protect our public services - libraries, parks, public transport, pools
I support efforts to make public transport accessible, affordable and equitable. especially for our students and children I want to enhance multi modal transport options such as cycle ways and walkways. I would love to see the Greenways plan completed and well connected to our bordering local boards. I want to see our roads well maintained, safe to drive along and safe for pedestrians to cross, so I support speed limits that are appropriate
