I enjoy spending time across Ōrākei with my young family and am excited by the prospect of being a strong advocate for the community with a focus on getting the basics right. My background is in education and governance, most recently as Head of School for an MBA programme. This experience has shown me how local decisions affect daily life and why clear priorities matter. As a parent and professional, I want to see reliable transport, safer streets, and well-kept public spaces that people actually use and value. I believe that council should respect ratepayers, spend wisely, and stick to core services. I will bring energy, integrity, and a strong commitment to serving the community while supporting personal responsibility, individual freedom, and practical solutions. As part of the ACT Local team, I am standing to deliver real change for Ōrākei and would be very grateful for your support.
Ratepayers have been let down by higher rates, more bureaucracy, wasteful pet projects, and neglected basics. It is time to focus on what matters: safe streets, working infrastructure, and value for money. After 20 years living in Auckland, I understand our community’s needs and will bring practical solutions to deliver real change locally. I want to contribute to making our neighbourhoods safer, better connected, and more enjoyable places to live.
I am an experienced leader in education and governance with a strong track record of strategic decision-making and community engagement. I bring clear thinking, accountability, and a focus on practical outcomes. I listen carefully, communicate clearly, and follow through. As part of ACT’s Local Government team, I will bring energy, integrity, and a commitment to delivering results that matter to our community.
Transparency so residents can clearly see how money is being spent and hold council to account. Less waste by ending pet projects and cutting unnecessary bureaucracy. Better services by fixing roads, clearing drains, collecting rubbish, and maintaining public spaces.
I will fix the basics by maintaining footpaths, clearing drains, and keeping traffic flowing. I will oppose anti-car policies such as excessive speed bumps, road narrowings, and cycleways that do not reflect local needs. Transport choices should be practical and locally decided, not driven by ideology.
I will support local projects that fix flooding, clear blocked drains, and maintain stormwater infrastructure. We need real investment in pipes and pumps, not vanity projects, so water and wastewater systems are reliable, affordable, and focused on essentials for ratepayers.
I will oppose red tape that blocks development while ensuring infrastructure keeps up. I support increased housing density around key transport hubs, building where it is most needed and makes the most sense, so Auckland can grow without pushing up rates or wasting money.
I will back local pest control, coastal protection, and better flood management, but stop wasting money on political climate projects that do not deliver for ratepayers or the environment. The focus should be on practical work that benefits nature and protects communities.
I will get the basics right by fixing walkways, maintaining community centres and libraries, and supporting practical local events that bring people together without pushing politics. Well-run facilities and safe public spaces are the foundation of strong communities.
I will work with local businesses to revitalise town centres, improve safety and foot traffic, and cut red tape so it is easier to hold markets, run events, or obtain licences. Strong local economies and vibrant communities go hand-in-hand.
All residents should be treated equally. I will campaign to remove the voting rights of unelected independent Māori Statutory Board members on council committees. Strategic assets such as the Port and the Future Fund must be run efficiently to lower rates, strengthen resilience, and stop waste.
