I'm Sandeep Saini. I've lived, worked, and raised my family right here in Papatoetoe. I understand the challenges many locals face - rising costs, safety concerns, and the need for real, lasting improvements to our neighbourhood. Since 2017, I've owned and operated local businesses, supported community projects, and built a life rooted in hard work and service. As a family man, I care deeply about the future of our streets, our kids, and our older residents. I'll stand up for better roads, safer streets, well-maintained parks, and real support for both youth and seniors. You can count on me to listen, take action, and always put the local community first. Let's bring back respect, reliability, and results. As an Papatoetoe Otara action candidates Sandeep Saini wants to retain the weekly rubbish household collection for Public Health and cleanliness. I, will be dedicated to building a stronger Papatoetoe. If elected, I will focus on improving our local schools, libraries, parks, public places, and pathways. By investing in these vital community resources, we will raise the standard of living for Papatoetoe and all our communities.
I have experience in taking initiative, making informed decisions, and guiding teams towards positive outcomes, even under challenging circumstances. Good Communication and Listening. I am solutions-focused, able to identify issues quickly, and develop practical, long-term strategies that benefit the community.
1). Community Safety and Security:- Safety is a basic right for everyone. I am committed to enhancing security in our neighborhoods through improved lighting, increased community patrols, and closer collaboration with law enforcement. 2). Public amenities:- This includes ensuring our public toilets are clean and well-maintained, and that our parks and recreational areas are welcoming and accessible to everyone. 3). "Passionate about strong schools, better resources, and safe learning for all.
Reliable and Affordable Public Transport:- I will advocate for more frequent bus and train services, better connections, and affordable fares to make public transport a convenient choice for everyone. Safe Walking and Cycling Paths: Creating well-lit, safe footpaths. eco-friendly travel and protect pedestrians and cyclists from accidents. Smarter Parking Solutions Papatoetoe needs better parking management around busy areas like town centers and schools to reduce frustration.
i will ensure safe, reliable water for homes and schools. I will prioritize improving drinking water quality, upgrading aging pipes, and enhancing drainage systems to prevent blockages and flooding. Better stormwater and wastewater management will protect our environment and reduce flood risks. Clean water is essential for health, and I am committed to long-term solutions for a sustainable future.
Urban growth must be balanced with community well-being. In Papatoetoe, I will push for wider roads and stronger planning controls to prevent overcrowding from excessive townhouse developments on small sections. Beautification projects, green spaces, and heritage protection are essential to keep our area attractive and livable. Infrastructure must grow with housing to avoid traffic and maintain quality of life.
I am committed to protecting Auckland’s natural spaces through tree planting, cleaner waterways, and stronger biodiversity initiatives. We must create more green areas in urban developments, reduce pollution, and invest in climate resilience strategies to handle extreme weather. Preserving parks and reserves for future generations while promoting sustainable living will keep our environment healthy and thriving.
I will build a stronger, more connected Papatoetoe by: Fostering Community: I will welcome new residents and empower local groups through diverse cultural events and volunteer opportunities. Improving Services & Facilities. i will continue revitalizing the town centre, upgrading transport, and investing in parks and leisure centres. Promoting Wellbeing: We will enhance health services, boost safety, and support environmental projects for a healthier, more sustainable community.
My vision for Papatoetoe is a vibrant, inclusive community where local businesses thrive and cultural heritage is celebrated. I will support revitalising Old Papatoetoe Town Centre, improving public spaces, and backing initiatives that grow economic activity. We’ll promote cultural events, incorporate Mana Whenua narratives, and protect local history, ensuring growth remains sustainable and our diverse identity is honored."
The Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board will work with mana whenua to co-design community-led projects. Partnering on environmental restoration and cultural hubs, and promoting Māori-led businesses. Managing Port of Auckland: The Port’s strategy focuses on modernization and automation to increase capacity without expanding.
