Candidate for Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board (Papatoetoe Subdivision)
Independently Papatoetoe
I'm Nazia Farnaz Ali, a Fiji Indian Muslim and a South Auckland resident for over a decade. I've built a successful property management business in Old Papatoetoe, supporting landlords and tenants with fairness and care. I've have been part of Papatoetoe Business Association while operating my business from Rangitoto road and taken part at the cultural events that unite our diverse community. As a mother whose children attend local schools, I understand the real needs of families here. I'm standing to represent Papatoetoe with honesty, transparency, and heart. I'll listen, act on your concerns, and work to protect what makes our community unique while building a better future. Let's create change - together. #Servingindependenatly #PapatoetoePride
Running as an independent candidate I will only work for the people and the community. Working towards a safer, vibrant and inclusive Papatoetoe.
The ability to work in a high pressured enviroment. Listen with an open mind to peoples concerns, and to be their voice.
1)Getting community Police Station back in Papatoetoe - This is to help the community feel more safe. 2)Better transportation and to make public parking space - People will use more public transportation which in return will be better for the enivornment as there would be less carbon footprint. 3)The Auckland Council has taken control of the CCTV camera system. The services has declined I want more accountability and add more cameras - this will help track down more criminal activity.
To alleviate traffic, we advocate for public transport that is reliable and arrives on schedule. We will fill potholes and level manholes to make sure the roads are more safe to be on.
Encourage locals to set up storm water tanks for gardens and washing cars. As opposed to tapwater.
The development side has become over crowded. The new builts don't have enough car parking onsite. Cars are parked on the kerbs restricting traffic flow and hazard to locals.
Keeping our streams free from weeds. Our drains and stormwater is free from rubbish due to intense rains which in turn is from overflowing.
Papatoetoe parks should have an area for all ages. Bicycle for kids, playground set up for kids, fitness equipments for adults. This will motivate everyone to be out of the household. This in turn will foster a healthy and close-knit community.
Continue with the Christmas parade, Matariki celebrations, and Diwali celebrations. Have competitions running within local schools supporting local businesses e.g colouring for during easter holidays giving out chocolates. This will garner more attention to our local businesses therefore driving economic growth.
So we will celebrate the indigenous cultures within New Zealand. Māori people
