Candidate for Waiheke Local Board
I’m seeking re-election to the Waiheke Local Board as an independent candidate committed to equity, environmental protection, and community wellbeing. Raised on Waiheke, I bring lived experience and a strong track record of action on the issues that matter: housing, fairer ferry fares, reliable transport, and resilient infrastructure. I believe local government must work for all of us - workers, renters, families, and elders. As Waiheke’s representative on the Hauraki Gulf Forum, I’ve advocated for the protection and regeneration of Tikapa Moana, including a ban on bottom trawling. I’ve defended public services, supported climate action, and helped strengthen emergency preparedness. I’m committed to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi, investing in youth spaces, and ensuring local decisions reflect our shared values. I will continue to be a principled, independent voice for a fair, sustainable, and thriving Waiheke.

The board must demand affordable, reliable services to ensure access to jobs, education, and healthcare—key to a thriving communit
