Candidate statement
I have lived and worked in Titirangi with my family for the last 26 years, and have previously lived in Glen Eden. I stand for common sense and the sensible spending of your hard earned money. No pet projects, just providing the services that council should be providing: Rubbish Collection; Drains and culverts cleaned regularly; Debris and blockages removed from waterways; Footpaths and Tracks open and maintained to standard; Clean streets, Parks and Community spaces; Assisting community groups and clubs. And listening to the local people who know there areas well. Now is Not the time for nice to haves. I am experienced in business, am hard working and committed to my community. Please Vote for me and my WestWards Team.
Why I want to be elected
I want to review where our rates are being spent. It seems that the same people keep receiving funding and others do not get a look in. Funding for clubs ,groups and communities needs reviewing along with what services are and are not being funded.
My key skills and qualities
I have been in business for 30 years and have also run a local club and been on committee for several years.
My top three key issues
engaging with locals to find out there top priorities. Access to tracks parks and beaches. cleaning drains ,waterways, pipes, culverts etc .
My position on key topics
Transport
Less spend on bike lanes and more on making roads easier to use.
Water
carry on as we are.
Built environment
stop the spread of the city and start building up.
Natural environment
no thoughts at this stage.
Community
start listening to local people. Assist clubs to grow and develop,
