I’m a Laotian mum who arrived in NZ as a baby and raised in West Auckland. Growing up in diverse homes and working across Asia and NZ shaped my commitment to bold, inclusive leadership and meaningful change. With over 20 years in the Immigration sector, I am new to Council, but not new to Leadership, Business, or Governance. I’ve served as a Branch Technical Advisor for the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment and as New Zealand’s International Criminal Fraud Representative for the NZ Commerce and Trade Office. I own Luv Immigration and serve on NZ Tennis Boards. I speak multiple languages and hold qualifications in Political Science, Education, Business, and Teaching. Vote safer and cleaner neighborhoods, better transport, infrastructure and healthcare - and leadership that reflects our diverse communities. I fight hard on the tennis court - and even harder for you. Vote Kay Luv – Your Change Champion
I want to be elected because I believe I have the capability and the compassion to make good decisions. I want to shape what happens to our home. I am so glad that I have been able to have this opportunity because getting to know so many new people and helping them with their problems has defined my life that this is what I was meant to do. Change happens by listening to people . I look forward to my mission of safer communities, affordable housing, better healthcare and reliable transport.
With over 20 years in NZ, India, Taiwan, and Thailand, I bring key skills in policy, business, leadership and governance—advising MBIE, Immigration Officers, Lawyers, Government Officials, and Industry Leaders. I have solved complex cases, represented NZ in international criminal fraud investigations, and run my own consultancy, Luv Immigration. I also serve on NZ tennis boards and hold qualifications in Politics, Business, and Education. I'm compassionate, truthful, bold, determined and quirky.
1. Safer Communities - It is not okay to hurt other people, I support tougher laws for those that disregard the law over and over again. 2. Affordable Housing - No person should be without a roof over their heads. We can make room to look after everyone. There is always a solution. 3. Better Healthcare and Transport - We need to improve on cost, reliability and access. Priority spending must be on core services.
My priority for transport is that projects meet the timeframes indicated so roadworks have minimal impact on people. Accountability and urgency to get work done on time. Evaluating the indicated spend on the Long Term Plan for Transport and whether there are alternatives for this. Make public transport free if you want to encourage less people to drive and improve congestion. If public transport is not reliable than driving a car, people will not be encouraged to use public transport.
Support the Water Quality Targeted Rate Investment as it helps to keep our waterways free of contaminants and our environment and our drinking water clean and safe for our Aucklanders. Substantial money spent on stormwater and wastewater infrastructure is essential to our city.
The investment in urban development and housing has to create a balance of preserving our heritage sites because those heritage sites build the city's character, charm and attracts international visitors. I oppose high density living if it compromises protecting our heritage sites.
Support the Natural Environment Targeted Rate Investment and protect our green spaces within our urban development. We need to protect our environment through protecting our native bush through the prevention of disease and pest control. We need to protect our marine environment and animals through ensuring there is compliance from commercial and recreational operators.
Listen. Listen. Listen. Every community in Auckland is diverse through social, cultural, economic differences. However we can all live peacefully together by respecting each other and listening to what communities want. In my view, as a leader you are there to care, help and protect. You listen and action what would be best for that community because at the end of the day, it is those people that are living there in that local community. Your job as a politician is to help and lead.
Revitalize our Auckland City Centre, fix our transport system and market Auckland globally. I would like to see our local businesses have more opportunities to create local employment with more support by simplified regulation and tax relief. I want our cultural heritage to be inclusive of more festivals and arts that is from all minority groups that live in Auckland.
Our Maori outcomes can only be achieved through meeting our responsibilities through Te Tiriti o Waitangi and listening to our Iwi authorities, organisations and individuals. We do not expand the Port of Auckland beyond it's current footprint and we grow our current investments and evaluate what other global cities are doing that is innovative to grow the Auckland Future Fund so that rates are manageable for households.
