Candidate for Waitematā Local Board
C&R - Communities and Residents
With over a decade as a local business owner in Ponsonby and the CBD, active community member, and current parent of a child attending a local school, I have deep, lasting roots in Waitemata. I've contributed to the community's energy while seeing clearly the need for focused leadership and tangible results that benefit our neighbourhood. My extensive board experience involves five years on the Ponsonby Business Association, including a chair on the Safety and Security Committee, leading initiatives to enhance and protect our community's wellbeing, while promoting thriving businesses. I also bring seven years of experience with a respected national charity, five years as president and trustee, focusing on our members receiving the strong support and opportunities they needed. I offer bold, transparent leadership backed by lived experience, strategic insight, a clear commitment to action, and most of all a passion for the Waitemata area. Vote Nick Nielson and C&R
I will deliver results, not rhetoric. I will hold public services accountable, pushing to cut wasteful spending, stop the targeting of the public's pocket, and remove inefficiency. I will be a voice for local residents and businesses, not just a seat-filler. I will stand up for the safety of our community, as my proven record of service shows.
I bring transparent leadership, lived experience, and a commitment to action. Drawing from many years as a local small business owner and five years on the Ponsonby Business Association, including a chair on its Safety & Security subcommittee, I’ve worked hard to protect our community’s wellbeing. I also bring seven years experience with a respected national charity, five as president and trustee, delivering results through strong, focused leadership.
My three top issues are: Stopping wasteful spending, Supporting the local businesses and residents, and focusing on a safe community. I feel the community deserves this, and I will leverage my personal experience to ensure success.
I will focus on removing the wasteful spending and inefficiency, so that our community can see and benefit from tangible results.
