Candidate for Waitematā Local Board
C&R - Communities and Residents
Passionate about Waitematā the best place to live and work, Leo believes there is a responsibility to deliver for those who call this place home. A next generation leader and the son of hardworking immigrants, Leo is no stranger to putting in the hard yards to make a real difference - especially when it comes to what he believes in. Working with small business owners, Leo values their contributions and the need for them to be heard. A victim of crime, Leo recognises the need to make our city centre and neighbouring suburbs safer. Leo believes council can also do better to deliver more cost-effective and democartic solutions, inviting everybody to the table to ensure a vibrant city for all. It is also time to get Auckland out of gridlock, putting forward common sense transport solutions. Vote Leo Grachev and all the C&R Team to move Waitematā forward - Together
I, along with the C&R team, will ensure a better deal for those who call Waitematā home. I promise to stop wasteful spending, delivering better value for ratepayers and residents; support local businesses; unlock the gridlock and save our parking; keep weekly rubbish collections; ensure safer and cleaner streets; and protect our character and parks. Above all else, listening to and addressing the needs of the community is my top priority.
I'm no stranger to putting in the hard yards to get things done, and bring a fresh perspective which is needed on the local board. I also have a proven track record in developing long lasting relationships with stakeholders, and working closely with small business owners. I understand the importance of clear communication and delivering practical results, and I will use these skills to advocate for the community.
My top three key issues this election are 1) delivering better value for your rates, 2) getting our city moving, and 3) ensuring cleaner and safer streets. These are the most pressing issues Waitematā faces, and it's our duty to deliver on them. Every dollar spent by local government should go towards improving the lives of Aucklanders.
My priority from day one will be to get the city moving. From endless roadworks to overly complicated traffic rules, it is clear that Waitematā faces serious issues when it comes to getting around. We must adhere to a multi-modal approach, but be wary of sacrificing any more public parking or space for those on the road. It is of utmost importance that we consult the community, local businesses, and other key stakeholders, before making any major decisions. That is a promise.

Auckland is growing at record pace, and it's vital that we keep up. We must balance the need to provide more housing and room for economic development, while also consulting the community and ensuring that our character as a city is protected.
Our green spaces are precious, and as an elected Local Board Member, I will ensure that we protect our parks and fields for public use.
I believe in delivering better community services based on need, and a long-term vision. This will ensure that Waitematā is the best place to live and work.
I know first-hand how local businesses are the backbone of our economy, and bring proven experience in supporting economic development. We must ensure businesses have room to grow, and that all decisions we make are made with proper consultation.
A well-managed local government must deliver on the basics, and value transparency above all else. I bring real business experience and have worked closely with local economic development agencies.
