An independent and community-focused voice, I don’t answer to any political party and will work with anyone committed to building a better Whau. I’m a current Whau Local Board member and former Chair of the New Lynn Business Association. I bring experience delivering for the Whau, where my family and I are proud to call home. If elected, I’ll advocate to retain green space at Avondale Racecourse, deliver an aquatic and recreation centre, enhance our waterways and environment, and improve transport options and infrastructure, including advocating for the Avondale-Southdown rail line. I’ll also work to create safer, more vibrant town centres, plan sensibly for future growth, and support local business and economic development. With your support, I’ll remain a dedicated, independent voice focused on real progress and local outcomes, making the Whau a thriving place to live and work. Let’s put the future of the Whau first. Vote Piper.
I'm standing to put the future of the Whau first. I’ll focus on safer streets, thriving town centres, better transport, and protecting our environment. As an independent, I’ll work with anyone committed to delivering real results for our community, without the distractions of party politics.
I bring experience in governance, financial management, and strong community advocacy. As a current Local Board member and former Chair of the New Lynn Business Association, I’ve delivered positive results for our area. I’m collaborative, strategic, and focused on outcomes that improve everyday life in the Whau.
I’m focused on revitalising our town centres to make them safer, cleaner hubs thriving with activity; improving transport connections, including advocating for the Avondale-Southdown rail line to strengthen east west connections; and restoring our waterways and protecting green spaces for people, for pets, and for future generations.
Advocate for the Avondale-Southdown rail line to unlock better east-west transport connections. Upgrade our roads, footpaths, and cycleways to support all transport users. Push for more frequent, reliable public transport services, like advocating to add the train network into AT's Poor Performance Group.
We should invest further in our aging water infrastructure to prevent water loss through damaged pipes and investigate new sources of water and water storage to meet future growth needs of the city.
We need to be supporting more development in our town centres, upgrading and improving our public realm spaces and boosting our local economies.
I support partnering with our local environmental organisations to restore and enhance the Whau river and it's tributaries.
Work with and support the network of community providers in the Whau who are actively out there in the community.
Upgrade Council facilities and improve our town centres and public spaces, with improved lighting and increased maintenance levels. We need to work collaboratively with our local business associations on projects that will increase local economic development.
Support the return of Port land to the public for redevelopment opportunities and continued investment in the Auckland Future Fund to reduce future reliance on rates increases.
