About online candidate profiles
As a candidate in the 2025 local elections for Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland, you will be able to create an online profile on the Vote Auckland website.
An online profile is optional but helps voters learn more about you and your campaign, so they can make an informed decision.
You can use your profile to explain:
- why you want to be elected
- your key skills and qualities
- your top three issues.
We will also ask for your position on a range of key issues, such as:
- transport
- water
- Auckland's built environment
- Auckland's natural environment
- community
- economic and cultural development
- well-managed local government
- outcomes for Māori.
Why online profiles are important
It is important for voters to know more about candidates and their policies, so they can decide who to vote for.
A profile lets you expand upon the official candidate statement that you submitted as part of your nomination, which features in the official voting booklet.
Your online profile will be displayed exclusively on the Vote Auckland website. However, you can also share it on your own platforms as part of your campaign.
How to create your online profile
We will email you on Monday 4 August with instructions on how to start creating your online profile.
Once we provide you with a secure link to start the process, you can create and work on your online profile up until 12 midnight on Sunday 17 August 2025, or until you submit it to us.
You will not be able to edit it further once it is submitted.
We review all candidate profiles. If your content does not meet our terms and conditions, we will contact you to discuss changes. There will be a strict deadline to revise the content. Changes received after this deadline will not be used.
