Candidate for Albert-Eden Local Board (Maungawhau Subdivision)
C&R - Communities and Residents
Mt Eden has been my home for over 25 years. It's where my wife and I raised our children, where I've walked these streets, listened to neighbours and advocated for our community. I'm a husband, father, Justice of the Peace and founder of a local residents association. I'm seeking a second term because I believe in strong local voices shaping Mt Eden's future via genuine consultation. I care deeply about safety and reducing crime, founding and running the Mt Eden Community Patrol. I'm passionate about environmental concerns. I'm a member of Pest Free NZ and also an advocate for climate control, educating people about alternative energy solutions like solar. Preservation of heritage in Mt Eden is important, preserving our truly unique suburb, whilst promoting sensible infrastructure development, making sure the residents of Mt Eden are represented as council addresses issues such as traffic congestion. Please Vote Jose Fowler and C&R.
I am seeking a 2nd term and will continue to advocate for the neighbourhood on what matters, value for money, stop wasteful spending, focus on safety, crime prevention and preservation of heritage in our unique suburb. Hold AT accountable for everything thats going on in our neighbourhood. Maintaining good and useable green spaces, work to ensure local businesses have what is needed to thrive. Retain weekly rubbish collections and keep our roads/pathways clean to prevent un-necessary flooding
I am a community first person. I serve as a Justice of the Peace in our neighbourhood (which is a volunteer service). I founded and still run the Mt Eden Community Patrol, have been involved in resident and many other volunteer organisations (see website for full details). I have lived in the same 1903 Villa for over 25 years and fully understand how our neighbourhood operates and what is needed to ensure it remains a great place to live and bring up children (having raised three ourselves).
Rates - Deliver more value for your money and keep rates low Roads - I will promote sensible transport solutions Rubbish - Retain your weekly rubbish collection Environment and Housing - Protection of our local special character and heritage and protect our open spaces There are many things outside the boundaries of Local Boards, my house runs on solar and batteries and I would like council to educate people better via the libraries especially to encourage more people to do the same.
