Albert-Eden Local Board (Maungawhau Subdivision)
City Vision
Candidate statement
Kia ora koutou I'm Jonty Carroll I'm a proud disability activist and customer service assistant standing with City Vision. I have lived in Mount Eden almost my entire life and love it here. My favourite thing about the area is the beautiful environment and local parks. One of the reasons I'm standing is to ensure all our green spaces are protected. My fundamental belief regarding land rights is that they must be made with the understanding that it is of historical and cultural significance to Māori. I identify as neurodivergent and as a disability rights activist. I will make sure our schools, shops, and parks are accessible for all. Accessibility is not just about physical access. Accessibility also means quiet places at noisy events, making public bathrooms more available and being understanding towards all people. Thank you I hope you will support me and my team
Albert-Eden Local Board (Maungawhau Subdivision)
City Vision
Candidate statement
I set up and ran an IT business in Mt Eden for 20 years, following a successful purchase and sale of the Ford Alloy Wheel Plant in Wiri. Now I'm retired, I'm keen to use my experience and skills to speak for our local community. I strongly believe local voices need to be heard for good decision making. I understand how to get things done, having experienced governance roles as past chair of the Western Springs College Board and founder of the Africa New Zealand Business Council. I enjoy golf at the Royal Auckland and Grange Golf Club, cycling on the Western Cycleway and I'm a member of a great local seniors' fitness class. I believe in getting stuck in and working on making our place better, so I'm a rat trapper at my local park and support the Tree Council. Please vote for me and the City Vision team.

C&R - Communities and Residents
Candidate statement
Mt Eden has been my home for over 25 years. It's where my wife and I raised our children, where I've walked these streets, listened to neighbours and advocated for our community. I'm a husband, father, Justice of the Peace and founder of a local residents association. I'm seeking a second term because I believe in strong local voices shaping Mt Eden's future via genuine consultation. I care deeply about safety and reducing crime, founding and running the Mt Eden Community Patrol. I'm passionate about environmental concerns. I'm a member of Pest Free NZ and also an advocate for climate control, educating people about alternative energy solutions like solar. Preservation of heritage in Mt Eden is important, preserving our truly unique suburb, whilst promoting sensible infrastructure development, making sure the residents of Mt Eden are represented as council addresses issues such as traffic congestion. Please Vote Jose Fowler and C&R.
Albert-Eden Local Board (Maungawhau Subdivision)
City Vision
Candidate statement
My family has been part of Maungawhau for generations, and I've lived in both Mt Eden and Kingsland. I went to Auckland Grammar, studied at Boston University while representing New Zealand at the Olympics, and later earned degrees in Philosophy and Politics from the University of Auckland. I ran businesses for 20+ years and helped lead projects like bringing movies to Waiheke and saving special trees in Western Springs. I've organised local weeding bees, worked with council and iwi, pushed for safer streets, and supported better housing - always with a focus on spending wisely and doing what's right for the community. I won't waste your money. I'll work hard to make sure our neighbourhoods are safe, green, and welcoming. I may not live on your street, but I care deeply about your area - and I'll prove it. Please vote for me and the City Vision team.
Albert-Eden Local Board (Maungawhau Subdivision)
Candidate statement
I'm ready to bring some high energy to our neighborhood and work on fostering community engagement and connections. I feel we are becoming increasingly disconnected with our neighbors, I want to help bring our local communities together and provide more opportunities for younger generations to engage in activities that they are keen to engage with, that they are missing out on. We also have a number of empty storefronts and I would love to work within our community to make some use of unused spaces for community good. I love our area and the people that reside here, I want to help you all and create a space we are all proud of and can engage with. Thank you all for the consideration, I am looking forward to helping create a space our children can look back on fondly.
Albert-Eden Local Board (Maungawhau Subdivision)
C&R - Communities and Residents
Candidate statement
I'm seeking a third term on the Albert-Eden Local Board, where I've had the privilege of serving for six years, including as Chair. My husband and I have lived here for over 25 years, raising our two children in a community we care deeply about. A proud alumni of ANI, Epsom Girls', and the University of Auckland (BSc), I bring leadership experience from my time at Parenting Place, where I developed strong skills in managing people, budgets, and resources. I believe in turning up, listening well, and working collaboratively. I'm practical, pragmatic, and committed to getting things done; from supporting flood-affected residents to protecting open space and character areas amid growth. I've stood up for local businesses, backed a balanced transport approach, and helped support Eden Park's financial sustainability. Albert-Eden deserves thoughtful, community-focused leadership, not top-down decisions. I'd be honoured to continue serving our neighbourhood. Vote Kendyl Smith and C&R.
Albert-Eden Local Board (Maungawhau Subdivision)
C&R - Communities and Residents
Candidate statement
I've lived next to Cornwall Park for over 40 years, and Albert-Eden is a community I've proudly served and care about deeply. I'm standing for a second term because Auckland is changing fast, and we need steady leadership to protect what makes our neighbourhood special. I bring decades of governance and commercial experience, including roles as Deputy Commissioner of Crown Lands; Regional Representative for the QE11 National Trust; Chair of Auckland Cricket; Trustee of Eden Park, and Board member of Cornwall Cricket Club. I've been made a life member of all three organisations, and have a New Zealand Order of Merit award for my service to community. I'll stand up for special character areas, sensible transport, environmental protection, and low rates. Our community deserves thoughtful leadership, not top-down decisions. I'm ready to continue to serve. I'd be honoured to earn your vote. Vote Rex Smith MNZM and C&R

I’m a proud 26-year local resident, parent, and candidate running to bring practical and rational leadership back to Council. With a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Physics, I’ve worked as a software developer, small business owner, and real estate agent. I understand the real-world pressures facing families, homeowners, and small businesses. My Action Plan is grounded in common sense: End Wasteful Spending; Eliminate vanity projects; Require cost-benefit analysis before spending public money; Lower Rates – Focus on Core Services; Deliver better services with smarter spending and tighter budgets; Improve Traffic – Remove AT’s unrealistic 'Vision Zero' policy; End excessive traffic-calming; Focus on maintenance, safety, and traffic flow; Scrap Pointless Emissions Targets – Focus on Climate Adaptation; Ditch costly ideology-driven targets; Invest in stormwater management, and resilience. Vote Paul Sun – Rational Approach, Independent Voice, Local Focus.

C&R - Communities and Residents
Candidate statement
A Local Voice. A Personal Commitment. Albert-Eden is home; it's where my wife and I are raising our children, drawn to Greenlane's friendly spirit and easy to parks, schools, and transport. I'm running again for the Maungawhau subdivision, driven by a passion to enhance our community. As an Electronics Engineer and MBA graduate, I bring real-world experience solving complex infrastructure challenges for government and business. I know how to deliver smart, practical solutions; even with limited resources. Since being elected in 2022, I've worked hard for balanced growth, better transport on busy routes like Dominion Road, and fairer Council rates. I'm committed to a safer, greener, and more connected community - with services that truly reflect your needs. You deserve a Council that listens and acts. I'll continue using sound judgment and open communication to represent you well. Vote Jack Tan and all C&R for a community that thrives, together.

City Vision
Candidate statement
My family has deep roots across Maungawhau and in our diverse communities. I’ve played cricket for Eden-Roskill, social football in our parks, and I’ve hosted comedy events across Albert-Eden. As a producer, I pride myself on successful events that bring people together. I’ve consulted with businesses as an economic anthropologist, and I act as treasurer for the New Zealand Comedy Guild. Through this experience I’ve learned to build relationships, solve problems, and advocate effectively. I will advocate for safe, walkable streets for schools and hospitality, and to ensure people move around Albert-Eden quickly and safely. I believe that businesses support our community, and our plans should future-proof our infrastructure. Albert-Eden boasts beautiful green spaces and vibrant town centres; inclusive decision-making will maintain and protect those for everyone to use. Please vote for me and the City Vision team.
