I have served as Chairperson of the Te Papapa School PTA and helped establish Te Iti Kahurangi-Lalaga, a parent engagement group in our Kāhui Ako. I've also been on the Te Papapa Preschool Board and volunteered as a Community Liaison for To Wāhi Community Drop-in. I have helped organise events like 312 Day, Matariki, and Haere Mai Oranga, and worked with Kāinga Ora, Fletcher, and Tāmaki WRAP to ensure our community's voice is heard. I have raised my four children in Onehunga, and I continue to serve our community through sport, youth work, and cultural engagement. I believe everyone should have access to clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces. I'm committed to protecting and improving our parks, playgrounds, and community areas - so they remain places of pride and connection for generations to come. Join us with Labour - for strong communities and a better Aotearoa.
If I am elected, I will advocate for better transport so that everyone can get to school and work safely. I am also committed to ensuring that our community has safe and welcoming spaces to be active, to gather, and to enjoy opportunities like reading and learning together.
The skills I will bring are my passion to serve and advocate for our community, strong leadership, and the ability to collaborate effectively. Affordable fares- ensuring public transport remains accessible, for everyone. Active and safer cycle ways, walkways, and that better safety measures are put in place, also having well-lit bus stops so people traveling at night feel safer.
Long - term investment in resilient infrastructure, strengthen partnership with mana whenua to honour Te Tiriti ,and traditional knowledge of water, (wai as taonga), to have the community to understand their role to protect and conserve water.
Urban development and housing should be about building communities where people thrive and families feel secure and healthy.
Protecting our environment isn't just a opportunity to create a healthier, safer, and more resilient future for our tamariki.
Stronger communities- don't just happen they are built through partnership, investment and leadership.I will work hard to ensure communities are connected, supported and thriving, with services and facilities that meet real needs today and into the future.
Economic growth must go together with , community growth, By backing local businesses, more job opportunities, promoting and valuing culture and heritage, that not just prosperous but also proud of its identity and connected to its people .
