    My name is Don Allan, and I'm standing for re-election to the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board representing Maungakiekie. As a current board member and a serving member of the New Zealand Police, I bring both experience and a strong commitment to keeping our communities safe, connected, and thriving. With firsthand experience in community safety, youth development, and public service, I bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to local issues. Over the past term, I've supported initiatives that improve our parks, public spaces, transport access, and youth opportunities - always putting the needs of our community first. Onehunga is a vibrant and diverse place, and I'm committed to ensuring everyone has a voice in decisions that shape our neighbourhood. If re-elected, I will continue working hard for a safe, connected, and resilient community we can all be proud of. Vote Don Allan and C&R.

    Debbie Burrows: Safer Streets, Smarter Spending, Stronger Communities. Now in my third term as Deputy Chair of the Maungakiekie-Tāmaki Local Board, I bring over 20 years of senior management experience and 15 years in governance. A long-time Onehunga resident, former local business owner, and mum of two, with a much-loved family dog. I'm known for practical leadership and getting things done. I'm focused on strengthening neighbourhood safety, advocating for smarter infrastructure to support growth, and ensuring fiscal responsibility in council decision-making. Currently a Chair of Auckland's District Licensing Committee and I serve on governance boards in the youth justice and education sectors; supporting better outcomes for young people and communities through locally led, evidence-informed approaches. Our community deserves experienced, thoughtful leadership that listens, collaborates, and delivers. With a strategic mindset and a common-sense approach, I'm standing again to continue serving Maungakiekie-Tāmaki with integrity and action. Vote Debbie Burrows and C&R.

    Christopher Carroll is a primary school teacher and has served as a school board member alongside parents and school leaders. Christopher is committed to ensuring the voice of the community is heard on the Local Board. He has enjoyed meeting residents, listening to their concerns, and wants to be a voice for them going forward. Sensible regulation on the sale of vapes and maintaining our public spaces is important, ensuring residents enjoy Onehunga for what it is - a wonderful place to live. Christopher ran as a candidate for Local Board in 2022 and is running again to be part of bringing positive change to our area. Please vote for all our Labour Party candidates, including Josephine Bartley for Councillor.

    I served three terms as an Auckland City Councillor, including as Chair of the Planning and Regulatory Committee, and recently three terms on Auckland Council Local Boards. A published author, and former AUT Business School senior lecturer, I serve as Treasurer of the Auckland Community Housing Trust, and know the importance of housing. I know how to get things done and deliver for you. I was born and raised in Onehunga, attending Royal Oak Primary, Intermediate and Onehunga High School, and attended local churches. I have now returned to play an active role in the lives of my two grandchildren. With them, I attend Onehunga Plunket playgroup, and Kindergarten, Onehunga Primary School, and local parks daily. Our suburbs have many playgrounds, sports fields, community facilities, libraries and swimming pool; all critically important, serving as meeting places, and in building strong and safe communities. Please vote for all the Labour team.

    I have served as Chairperson of the Te Papapa School PTA and helped establish Te Iti Kahurangi-Lalaga, a parent engagement group in our Kāhui Ako. I've also been on the Te Papapa Preschool Board and volunteered as a Community Liaison for To Wāhi Community Drop-in. I have helped organise events like 312 Day, Matariki, and Haere Mai Oranga, and worked with Kāinga Ora, Fletcher, and Tāmaki WRAP to ensure our community's voice is heard. I have raised my four children in Onehunga, and I continue to serve our community through sport, youth work, and cultural engagement. I believe everyone should have access to clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces. I'm committed to protecting and improving our parks, playgrounds, and community areas - so they remain places of pride and connection for generations to come.     Proudly representing our local community for the past six years, I have dedicated myself to serving and supporting the residents and businesses of Onehunga. With nearly a decade of experience owning and operating local businesses, I bring a practical, strategic, and entrepreneurial perspective to the local board. My approach is grounded in common sense, ensuring that decisions benefit our community in sustainable and meaningful ways. As we face major infrastructure projects on the horizon, I am committed to actively preserving the unique character and charm of Onehunga while fostering the growth and vibrancy of our neighbourhood. I believe in transparent communication, collaborative problem-solving, and working closely with residents to address their concerns. My goal is to ensure that our community continues to thrive, balancing development with tradition and maintaining the strong sense of identity that makes Onehunga so special.
