Candidate for Mayor
I stand for clear principles: Every person is their own property; The fruits of your labour are your property; You may use your property freely, provided you do not damage another’s property; If damage occurs, you must fully compensate the damage; Always act honourably and in good faith. The proper role of government is limited to managing Public Goods and Natural Monopolies - those essential services which markets alone cannot efficiently provide. These include: National and Local Defence; A fair Justice System; Emergency Services; Infrastructure that supports all of us. I will stand firmly against government overreach, wasteful spending, and unjust interference in your life and livelihood. Auckland deserves leadership that defends your freedoms, respects your property, and delivers only what is necessary - nothing more. Vote John Alcock for rational, principled leadership.
If elected, I will ensure Auckland Council returns to its proper role—managing essential Public Goods and Natural Monopolies like infrastructure, emergency services, and public safety. I will oppose Council overreach, waste, and unjust interference in your life and property. My leadership guarantees principled governance that respects your freedoms, your labour, and your right to prosper without unnecessary government intrusion. Elect me if you want a Council that governs less—and governs right
I bring principled, independent leadership with no political party ties or external influence. My expertise in strategic problem-solving, operational efficiency, and financial accountability ensures I will cut through bureaucratic waste and focus on delivering real outcomes. I stand for transparency, rational decision-making, and will uphold every Aucklander’s right to live freely and prosper from their own effort.
Limit government to essential Public Goods and Natural Monopolies. End Council waste and interference in your life and property. Restore individual freedom, property rights, and personal responsibility. I am passionate about rebuilding a principled, limited government that serves ratepayers—not rules them. Auckland has been overwhelmed by Council overreach, waste, and political ideology. I will restore clarity, boundaries, and respect for ratepayers.
Auckland Transport has more than tripled travel times with road cones, speed bumps, endless lights, and pointless disruptions—turning a once-functional city into gridlock. Their overpaid executives collect bonuses while Aucklanders sit idle, wasting time and fuel. Roads exist to move people and goods efficiently—not to serve ideology or incompetence. I will hold every AT executive personally accountable and restore transport to its proper function—serving those who pay for it.
I’ve had orange tap water, failed supply, and stained laundry—more than once in the past year. Watercare has known about combined wastewater and stormwater issues for over a century and done nothing but raise rates. That is unforgivable. I will hold every Watercare executive personally accountable and force this bloated organisation back to its one legitimate job: delivering safe, clean, reliable water—no excuses, no delays, no more failed leadership.
Auckland’s housing intensification agenda is failing—cramming people into substandard housing without adequate infrastructure. This creates debt slavery, crime, and social decay. Housing is a private good, and government interference must end. Likewise, heritage protection should be privately funded—not imposed on unwilling property owners. If a group wants to preserve a building, they should buy it and fund it themselves—not force their preferences onto others.
Real environmental protection starts with property rights. When people own and care for land, they have the greatest incentive to protect it. Forced intensification overwhelms ecosystems, compresses pollution, and destroys resilience. I will reject central planning and support decentralised, voluntary stewardship of nature grounded in personal responsibility and natural limits.
Strong communities aren’t built by government—they form naturally when people are free to associate, build, and cooperate without interference. Top-down “community wellbeing” policies often undermine real connection by replacing personal responsibility with bureaucracy. I believe the best way to support communities is to uphold individual property rights, ensure essential services function properly, and get Council out of the way so genuine human relationships can flourish.
Economic and cultural growth happen naturally when free individuals interact through voluntary exchange and shared values. Government interference distorts both—penalising local businesses with red tape, and institutionalising culture into ideology. I will remove barriers, reduce Council overreach, and let Aucklanders decide what’s worth building, buying, and preserving. Real prosperity and heritage come from freedom—not forced funding, slogans, or bureaucratic gatekeepers.
I reject race-based governance in all forms. Every Aucklander—regardless of heritage—deserves equal dignity, opportunity, and respect as autonomous individuals. I will not support policies that divide us by race. The Port, the Future Fund, and storm recovery must be managed transparently and efficiently for the benefit of all. I stand for one law for all, one standard of accountability, and a future where outcomes are driven by merit, responsibility, and freedom—not ancestry.
