Why I want to be elected
I believe in enhanced community participation both at local and national level decision-making processes. I like to see Manukau to be transformed as a prosperous southern hub of Auckland city. I passionately believe in equity and justice for all diverse communities. Also, I would like to promote improved safety and security for businesses, better local transport and improved local parks.
My key skills and qualities
As a former University Professor and researcher, I consider myself as an educated, thinking and problem-solver person. Furthermore, as an experienced politician (Former Member of Parliament (9 years) and Otara Papatoetoe Local Board member (9 years) and other elected positions, I understand the issues our communities face and the solutions we require. I am a team worker and have leadership qualities to make decions relevant to our community needs.
My top three issues
1. Community and business safety
2. Improved transport and parking in our local board area
3. Mitigate rubbish dumping and enhance cleanliness
These are the key areas that our residents and businesses often raise with me.
