Why I want to be elected
I am standing for the Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board because I believe our community deserves strong, transparent, and compassionate leadership. I am motivated by a deep commitment to safer neighbourhoods, better local services, youth opportunities, and support for families and small businesses. I want to listen, advocate, and deliver practical outcomes that reflect the diverse voices of our community.
My key skills and qualities
Auckland is where I have lived for 37 years , worked, and raised my whānau. I worked 28 years in banking, building strong financial and service skills, and for 13 years have owned a kitchen manufacturing business in Hunters Corner, supporting local jobs. Guided by manaakitanga, I serve on the Hunters Corner Town Centre Society Board and am a long-serving member of TISI Sangam Charitable Trust, strengthening community connections across Auckland.
My top three issues
Safer communities and revitalised town centres, including better lighting, cleanliness, and support for local businesses. Stronger youth pathways through training, apprenticeships, and local job opportunities. Improved community facilities, parks, sports fields, and transport links to ensure families in Papatoetoe and Ōtara have safe, accessible, and well-maintained spaces to live, work, and thrive.
