My principal place of residence is not in the Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board (Papatoetoe Subdivision) area.
I am a proven, trustworthy local leader who has proudly served two terms on the Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board, bringing experience, stability, and a deep understanding of our community into this role. I’m standing in this by-election in light of recent concerning outcomes from the last election, to ensure our community continues to have credible, values-driven candidates to choose from and confidence in local representation.
As a local business owner and community and youth development worker of over 20 years, who has lived in Otara & Papatoetoe I work closely with families, youth, migrant groups, schools, churches, and grassroots organisations to create positive, lasting change. I’m committed to serving both Ōtara and Papatoetoe, ensuring decision-making is grounded in fairness, transparency, and honesty.
As a woman with deep roots in Otara & Papatoetoe, I lead with integrity, cultural understanding, and a genuine heart for all people, always putting community before politics.
I have served our community for many years as a community and youth development worker and was honoured to be elected twice to the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board. I stepped down during my previous term to support my whānau when they needed me most — family comes first. After the last election, I was concerned to see no women elected. Representation matters. I am standing to champion inclusive leadership that reflects our diverse community and builds a stronger future for all.
I am a former two-term member of the Ōtara-Papatoetoe Local Board with a strong understanding of local government and community advocacy. For nearly 20 years, I’ve worked on the ground across Ōtara and Papatoetoe, founding local initiatives and supporting families, youth and businesses. As a business owner and long-time resident, with children educated locally, I understand our challenges and opportunities. This community is my home, and I remain committed to its future.
My top three priorities for Papatoetoe are Safety, Housing and Youth. I want our families to feel safe in their homes, schools and town centres through practical, community-led solutions. We need well-planned, affordable housing that protects neighbourhood character and supports infrastructure. Most importantly, I will champion our young people with pathways into education, employment and positive opportunities, because strong youth mean a stronger future for Papatoetoe.
