My principal place of residence is in the Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board (Papatoetoe Subdivision) area.
Kia Ora, Namaste, hello and warm pacific greetings to you all
I have put my name forward for the upcoming election. As a previous resident of Papatoetoe for 10 years, I have served in different roles in this community. I have been involved in sports, social and justice activities/services. I am a current Justice of the Peace and Marriage Celebrant.
I served a term as a Community Board Member in another ward which has given me experience in council systems and processes. A project I was involved in was the development of the Te Puke Otara stage 2 Community Centre. I am very proud of the achievement completed in the first term I served.
I am a strong advocate for all voices in particular youth, elderly, disability, culture and sport.
My late wife and I were married for 36 years and we have 3 adult children and 3 grandchildren.
I want to advocate the voice of our community. My previous experience as a local board member will adapt quickly into the systems and processes of council. My work experience and been a resident of 10 years will have a strong position as a board member if elected.
Im an advocate by trade. I work in the social services and housing industry. I am a registered social worker and a Nustice of the peace.
My top 3 issues are
United community
Youth
Elderly
