Kaipātiki Local Board
Shore Action
Candidate statement
As Chair of the Kaipātiki Local Board I've led a cohesive, stable and strong board. I've opened workshops to the public, held Council/AT to account, axed ratepayer-funded meals, and challenged Council's crazy proposals (such as removing rubbish bins, downgrading roads to loose chipseal, selling parkland). I've helped thousands of people with local issues; kept the community informed about council projects; and represented the public at hearings on developments that breach Unitary Plan rules. Our Shore Action team has supersized investment into environment and pest-free initiatives; upgraded many bush tracks (including Kauri Glen treetop bridge); updated playgrounds and installed shadesails to protect Tamariki; invested in community development, sport, events, art, youth, and more. I have 18 years governance experience, including Auckland Kindergarten and Beach Haven Primary BOT, and am admin of three Facebook groups connecting 60,000+ members of the community. Kia Ora, please support my re-election to the Kaipātiki Local Board. I love working for our community. I have strongly supported our hardworking environmental, sport and community groups; successfully advocated to get our own local compliance officers to help improve public safety; secured Kauri Kids; supported enhancements to our leisure services, including free swimming at Birkenhead Leisure for over 65s; supported track and playground upgrades. There is more that I want to achieve: continue working to improve maintenance of our public spaces and our environment; oppose congestion charging without improved public transportation; continue to work for families and young people; improve public safety, community development and continue to advocate against increased council costs. I have a MPhil Public Policy, in local government and active recreation. I grew up in Kaipātiki and live in Beach Haven with my husband and two boys. Kaipātiki Local Board
Conservative Party
Candidate statement
It is time to apply common sense conservative solutions to everyday problems. If you are sick and tired of how things are going with this great Auckland city of ours, and Kaipatiki Local Board we live in, join me in the fight to make things better. The elites do not have to live with the consequences of the decisions they make and are seemingly content with making our lives a misery. High crime. Dirty streets. Language policing. High intensity, poor quality housing developments. Endless overcrowding of a city which already has insufficient infrastructure for it. If you are a part of working class and middle class that shows up to work every day, keep the things running, pay their taxes, follow the law, there is a voice for you. Let send them a message! Vote for the most right-wing conservative voice available. Vote for Hudson Kostich
Kaipātiki Local Board
Candidate statement
As a 24-year Kaipatiki resident, I've built deep community roots through local photography exhibitions, teaching yoga and aikido, and raising my family here. My experience as a member, vice-chair and chair of various professional boards, and as a strategic marketing consultant, has equipped me with the leadership and organisational skills needed for effective local governance. I envision Kaipatiki as Auckland's premier family destination - culturally rich, environmentally beautiful, and economically vibrant. We need smart solutions to our traffic challenges, better environmental planning that enhances our natural beauty, and thoughtful development that attracts exciting businesses, light industries, and hospitality venues to create local jobs for our young people. My multicultural background, creative expertise, and proven track record in business planning, position me to help transform this vision into reality. I'm committed to preserving what makes Kaipatiki special - our beaches, bush, and community spirit - while building opportunities for future generations.
Kaipātiki Local Board
ACT Local
Candidate statement
Residents have been let down by Kaipātiki Local Board with neglected public spaces like our regularly flooding parks, roads full of potholes, board members racking up local debt, and wasteful spending on vanity projects. It’s time to give our Local Board a shake-up and focus on what actually matters. As a resident of Northcote, I understand the problems facing our community, and my background as a Registered Nurse means I know how to practically solve problems where failure isn’t an option. By voting for me as an ACT Local candidate you know what you are going to get: I will maintain our public amenities, pay off local debt, put an end to wasteful spending, and advocate against anti-car polices that make it harder to get around. If you want to see common sense back on your local board, then vote for me.
