Rodney Local Board (Northern Rodney Subdivision)
Independent
Candidate statement
I'm running to make sure Rodney's communities have a real voice where decisions are made. With over 40+ years of proven service, I know how to get things done. I've chaired the Glenfield Community Board and Town Planning Committee, and was chairman of the Sandspit Residents and Ratepayers Association, working closely with Auckland Council to achieve results. Protecting what makes Rodney special drives me. I lead the Predator Free Sandspit Project and was a founding and current member of Restore Rodney East, supporting a strong network of local environment groups. I bring experience, action, and a commitment to community. Together, we can keep Rodney thriving - and ensure our voices are heard.

Candidate statement
As a long-time dedicated Rodney resident, I am committed to serving our rural community. I am a local volunteer firefighter of 8 years, am on the board of Helensville Tennis Club, and founded and chair EveryKid Charitable Trust Manatōpu, a charity helping underprivileged youth into sport. I prioritize improving infrastructure and maintenance to ensure safer roads. My collaborative approach fosters community initiatives, supporting local projects that enhance and improve the lives of the families and children in our community. Living rurally, I understand the issues we face and advocate for equitable funding to address underinvestment in our region.
Rodney Local Board (Northern Rodney Subdivision)

Candidate statement
Rodney is more to me than just where I live, work the land, raised family and proudly serve our community. I care deeply about where Rodney’s headed, and I want to make sure we get there in a way that protects what makes Rodney special, all while preserving our environment, history, and heritage. My Priorities: Infrastructure that grows with us; Better-maintained roads and more sealing across rural areas; Landowners deserve choice, not council-driven ideology on private land; Safe, accessible parks for all users that supports future growth. I bring 35+ years of experience in business, farm contracting, land management, and engineering. I’ve proudly rolled up my sleeves for our community through groups like the Puhoi Community Forum, Mahurangi Sports and Recreation Collective, Puhoi Landcare Group, Mahurangi Equestrian Advocacy Group and will continue to advocate and represent local groups at local board level. If elected I’ll bring a collaborative, commonsense approach.
Rodney Local Board (Northern Rodney Subdivision)
Candidate statement
As a local resident and father of two primary-aged children, I’m committed to practical solutions that benefit our community. I enjoy fishing, hunting, and boating, and I value the outdoors and the lifestyle our area provides. My priorities include improving boating facilities, reducing waste, and ensuring smarter, more efficient use of public funds. I support the targeted removal of trees around power lines to reduce power outages during storms, and I oppose blanket culling of wild deer in our area — they can and should be managed responsibly by hunters. These are commonsense approaches that reflect local knowledge and respect for the environment. I believe our local board should focus on services that work, infrastructure that lasts, and decisions that put ratepayers first. I'm standing to bring greater accountability, transparency, and practical thinking to our local board.
Rodney Local Board (Northern Rodney Subdivision)
Candidate statement
Local politics has always been a passion for me. I have been privileged to advocate for Wellsford and the surrounding area for the last 9 years. We, Rural towns, and the wider region, struggle to be heard in Auckland Council. I have been successful in getting the Drainage Boards back. Advocating for better roading, introducing, Unsealed Road Improvement Program. Worker Road opening. Part of the greenways plan, Centennial Park new overbridge, Centennial Parks Management plan, replacing broken footpaths, new toilets, new playgrounds. 15 years into the 30-year plan and Rodney needs spatial and structure plans to be put in now stopping Council wastage, money on plan changes and Environmental issues. With 9 years on the local board, I would like to represent the Area for another 3 years to finish what I have started. Working for the betterment of Rodney.
